The medieval walled fort which overlooks the town is both an imposing and beautiful structure and is a step back in time. Located nearby is the early middle ages necropolis which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stolac was directly affected in the 1990’s war and is a perfect destination for those wishing an authentic experience.
The day continues with a visit to the Hutovo Blato Nature Park, composed of marshlands created by underground aquifer systems. It’s a vital bird reserve and is the most significant of it’s kind in the region. Another local hidden gem.
